Sign in with a passkey¶
A passkey lets you sign in to the dashboard without a password, with your device’s screen lock, fingerprint or face recognition, or a security key. Passkeys can’t be phished or reused on other websites.
Add a passkey¶
Sign in to the dashboard.
Open Passkeys & security in the top navigation.
Add a passkey and follow your browser’s prompts.
Add a second passkey on another device, or keep recovery codes, so you don’t lock yourself out if you lose a device.
Sign in with it¶
On the sign-in page, choose the passkey option. Your browser offers the passkeys it has for Ponyglot.
Sign up with a passkey¶
When you accept an invitation, you can sign up with a passkey instead of choosing a password.
Other second factors¶
Under Passkeys & security you can also set up an authenticator app (TOTP) as a second factor, and create recovery codes. Store the recovery codes somewhere safe, for example in your password manager.
Good to know¶
Passkeys are bound to the dashboard’s address,
app.ponyglot.app. A passkey created for a different address, for example a test installation, doesn’t work there.Your email address is your login. You can manage it under Email.
